How Soon After Engagement Should You Start Planning Your Wedding?

You just got engaged! Congratulations!

Now, if you are an anxious person, most likely all the things that you have to do are already rolling through your brain. You're mentally planning for the wedding and the to-do list is piling up…but should it be?

If you JUST got engaged, let's say tonight, yesterday or this week, then take a break and enjoy being engaged first. You should allow you and your fiance a grace period of at least a week to enjoy this time together as newly engaged.

Things that you SHOULD be thinking about is, how are you going to announce your engagement? There are events that you should consider planning to celebrate your engagement before your marriage, such as an engagement party and/or photo shoot.

Once you have announced your engagement, then start planning. It is true that the sooner you start planning the sooner you can ensure that venues and vendors are available. However, don't forget to consider for both you and your fiance, that grace period of at least week, and then start planning your wedding.

And lastly, Congratulations!
