Things to Add to Your Registry 

When creating your registry it is important to keep in mind the amount of people you are inviting. For every person you invite, you will want to add two items to your registry in order to give your guests plenty of options to choose from. Keep in mind too, the prices of the items you are adding. Including options, there should be various price points. The Amazon registry perfectly demonstrates how many items to add to each price point category based on the amount of invited guests (which is why this registry is highly recommended). 

Price Points

For every guest, their budget is different which is why you should have various pricing for all your registered gifts. Keep your categories somewhere around $1-$25, $25-$75, $75-$150, $150-$300 and $300+.

Most of your registered gifts should stay around the $1-$50 range. This will ensure that your guests can afford to give you a gift, and who knows, they might choose two from this category! 

Sharing is Caring

Adding hobbies that you and your partner don’t equally share should not be added to the registry. Here’s the reason for this hot take; What if everyone buys one partner all the things they specifically enjoy and you don’t get any? You will get your feelings hurt in some way and this is not a time to get jealous of your partner. So why open up that can of worms. Instead, add items to the registry that reflect BOTH of your interests. Add these personal hobbies to bachelor parties, or bridal shower registries instead! 

In regards to other issues, such as the color, material type, etc. qualities of an item, this will involve some compromise. For example, if you agree to add a dish set to your registry, one can choose the color while the other selects the material. 

Both you and your future spouse should complete the registry together, and talk about each item that you add and fully agree and be happy with each selection.
